User Experience and Information Design (UXID)

The vast amounts of digital information in organisations means that the design of information assets and information services are more important than ever. At IBD our goal is to ensure that information assets are designed to be useful, useable and that they add business value. To achieve this we use an approach that we have defined as deep information design.Deep information design addresses the design of information using three integrated views: the organisation, the user and the technical. Firstly, the information should meet business requirements and add business value. Secondly the information asset itself should be useful and meet the needs of the individual user and thirdly, the information should be designed in such a way that it is useable (and re-usable) taking into account technical aspects such as metadata and information model design.

Our expertise includes

Organisation view: information audit and information service design. Content and re-use audits.
User: information needs analysis, persona and scenario development, information architecture modelling, user experience design, accessibility and usability evaluations.
Technical: metadata and information model design, classification and thesaurus development, re-use analysis, internationalisation and localisation.
